    Dear Parents and Guardians,   Last week 13th—17th November 2023 as a whole school, we have been focusing on Anti-bullying and Friendship. We are thrilled to share the incredible highlights of the week. The children have been discussing and exploring this year’s focus – "Make a noise about bullying" and how to "be a good friend".   Our children have been actively engaged in discussions about bullying, learning essential skills such as how to support each other, stand up against bullying, report incidents, and identify the resources available within our school for help and guidance. It's heart-warming to see our students embrace the principles of empathy and inclusion and promote kindness throughout our school community.   Throughout the week, the school has been adorned with vibrant posters and artwork created by our talented students.   This term in YEAR 1 we have been reading the book called Greta and the Giants written by Zoe Tucker. You can watch the story with your child, read by the author on You tube. Link below:   YEAR 1 learnt about the impact of climate change and things we can do to help protect the planet. This week they made and designed placards to stand up for what we believe in, and to show we care about the planet, just like Greta Thunberg.   It was amazing to witness the enthusiasm and dedication your children have displayed throughout this journey. Their engagement with this important topic not only demonstrates their understanding of the world around them but also highlights their capacity to be thoughtful and proactive. Parents, you can truly be proud of the remarkable efforts and achievements of Year 1.   William Greaves Trophy – Mixed Primary School Competition: Capital Kids Cricket has established itself as a catalyst for positive change within schools, and St. Patrick's is proud to have developed club links with this influential charity. Capital Kids Cricket goes beyond the school environment, offering pathways into the world of cricket through their clubs designed specifically for young people. Notably, the  children of St. Patrick's have received invitations to two distinct clubs—one catering to a mixed audience and the other exclusively for girls. This inclusive approach   underscores the organisation's commitment to diversity and ensures that cricket is a sport for everyone. The anticipation is building at St. Patrick's as Capital Kids have invited us to take part in the William Greaves Trophy- Mixed Primary Cricket Competition in  January, we will be putting in some training for that! Furthermore, we eagerly look forward to six weeks of cricket coaching...

 

  At the end of the school week Friday 10th November, our ambitious young Lionesses eagerly gathered for the kick off of the year 4,5 and 6 after school girls football programme. At 3.30pm, last Friday, the playground came alive with the empowering spirit of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation's opening session, drawing 32 spirited girls into a shared journey of skill, social development and dreams.   With each touch of the ball, friendships blossomed and these young footballers showcased not just their football prowess but also the strength of their aspirations. Together, they are creating their own legacy- one goal, one aspiring lesson at a time!   The girls are in for an exhilarating journey with five more weeks of excitement ahead!      

  For Anti-bullying/Friendship week Year 4 pictured, made friendship bracelets in class for each other . The children have been  discussing and exploring this year’s focus – Make a noise about bullying and how to be a good friend.  As well as looking at how well we do this in our offline lives, at St Patrick’s we have also been discussing our behaviours in the online world also. We all need to think about how our everyday words and actions, both online and offline, affect others.
