Celebrating Friendship week at St Patrick's

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last week 13th—17th November 2023 as a whole school, we have been focusing on Anti-bullying and Friendship. We are thrilled to share the incredible highlights of the week. The children have been discussing and exploring this year’s focus – "Make a noise about bullying" and how to "be a good friend".

Our children have been actively engaged in discussions about bullying, learning essential skills such as how to support each other, stand up against bullying, report incidents, and identify the resources available within our school for help and guidance. It's heart-warming to see our students embrace the principles of empathy and inclusion and promote kindness throughout our school community.

Throughout the week, the school has been adorned with vibrant posters and artwork created by our talented students. Their creativity knows no bounds, and these visual representations beautifully capture the essence of friendship, support, and unity.

Our young artists also delved into the world of crafting, creating special friendship bracelets for their classmates. These tokens of friendship serve as a tangible reminder of the strong bonds formed within our school community and the importance of supporting one another.

In the spirit of fostering connections, the younger children in Year 1 and Reception enthusiastically participated in a heart-warming activity. Each child pulled the name of a classmate and dedicated the entire week to being extra kind and supportive to their chosen friend. This initiative has not only brought smiles but has strengthened the bonds of friendship across our school.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, the parents, for your continuous support in nurturing a school environment where kindness and friendship flourish. Together, we are creating a community that values empathy, understanding, and, most importantly, the power of genuine friendship.

We are happy to share snap shots of some of the artwork and the beaming faces of our winners.

Remember one kind word can make a world of difference!

“Whatever you do for others, you do for me.” -- Jesus

“Remember, the greatest gift is not found in a store nor under a tree, but in the hearts of true friends.” -- Cindy Lew

Let's continue to build a culture of kindness, understanding, and friendship at St Patrick's Catholic Primary School!
