E-Safety Workshop

Image
Week beginning 22nd January the children of St Patrick’s have been busy brushing up on their e-safety knowledge and understanding through creative and drama-led workshops and activities. Years 1 – 2 had a ‘Cyber-Heroes’ workshop that primarily focused on online gaming. In a calm and creative environment, our KS1 pupils explored issues such as online bullying, age-appropriate content, pop-ups and in-game chat. Together they created their very own special ‘cyber-hero’ identities and become online safety champions, ensuring the internet stays safe and fun for everyone! Years 3 – 4 took part in a ‘Game Over’ workshop and learned about the world of addictive gaming. They were shown how to avoid the temptation of in-app traps, resist playing through the night in order to get a good night’s sleep, control their emotions if they lost and how media can be shared to strangers. Years 5 – 6 took part in a ‘It’s Up To You #008’ workshop. As part of their secret mission they had to ensure

YEAR 3/4 PANATHLON   On Thursday 25th January, nine of our year 3 and 4 children embarked on an unforgettable Waltham Forest School Sports Network, Panathlon trip at the Peter May Leisure Centre.   The children brimmed with excitement as they left the school at lunchtime. Their anticipation reached new heights as they arrived at the event, where the sheer scale of the venue, the multitude of activities available, and the presence of children from schools across the borough accentuated their enthusiasm. Leading the group was none other than Genevieve from 3A, who proved to be a shining beacon of inspiration. Following in the footsteps of her older sister Amelia, Genevieve exhibited exceptional leadership skills throughout the day. Mr Hamlet and Mrs Fernando were full of praise, describing the team as ‘amazing’, with particular emphasis on Genevieve's outstanding leadership. Genevieve, filled the afternoon with encouragement. Her kind words motivated everyone to do their best, and

At St Patrick's we are committed to offering a myriad of enrichment opportunities to our children. These experiences are designed not only for their enjoyment but with a broader vision - to nurture and shape them into well-rounded individuals. We believe that exposure to diverse activities goes beyond the classroom and contributes to the overall holistic and multi faceted development of our children. This week we have seen 19 children actively engage in inter-borough events, 8 young leaders take part in curriculum P.E. leadership with younger children and the valuable contribution of sports ambassadors leading activities for our active lunchtime sessions. YEAR 5/6 INDOOR CRICKET COMPETITION:  On a chilly Wednesday, January 17th our year 5/6 Mixed Cricket Team attended a borough competition hosted by Capital Kids Cricket. Temperatures were low despite the indoor venue. Spirits however were high!  St Patrick's dived into the  spirit of the games with style and played matches agai
