Indoor Competition 'Tri Golf and Cricket'

At St Patrick's we are committed to offering a myriad of enrichment opportunities to our children. These experiences are designed not only for their enjoyment but with a broader vision - to nurture and shape them into well-rounded individuals. We believe that exposure to diverse activities goes beyond the classroom and contributes to the overall holistic and multi faceted development of our children. This week we have seen 19 children actively engage in inter-borough events, 8 young leaders take part in curriculum P.E. leadership with younger children and the valuable contribution of sports ambassadors leading activities for our active lunchtime sessions.

YEAR 5/6 INDOOR CRICKET COMPETITION:  On a chilly Wednesday, January 17th our year 5/6 Mixed Cricket Team attended a borough competition hosted by Capital Kids Cricket. Temperatures were low despite the indoor venue. Spirits however were high!  St Patrick's dived into the  spirit of the games with style and played matches against two schools. Our team triumphed in one match and narrowly missed out by four runs in the other. As the matches extended beyond schedule, we regrettably had to leave prematurely, missing out on the semi final to get back to school.  Despite our early departure the children had an enjoyable and memorable experience.  It is important to remember that beyond these  competitions, our young competitors not only improve their skills but learn invaluable lessons, such as resilience, fair play, teamwork and the art of gracefully navigating challenges.

YEAR 4 TRI GOLF FESTIVAL:  On Thursday 18th January, nine Year 4 children had a delightful afternoon exploring the world if Tri-Golf - a modified and engaging introduction to the fundamentals of golf, designed especially for children. The 'Tri' refers to three key  components: putting, chipping and driving. The equipment used is adapted to suit the children's size and skill level making the experience fun and engaging for the boys and girls taking part. This marked a debut for our children in the game. Our team gave an outstanding performance and scored an impressive 704 points. Their performance secured victory against their opponents and proves that determination, focus,  precision and teamwork  can indeed make all the difference not just in sport but in life.  We take pride in our children for not only embracing the challenge but for showcasing St Patrick's as a school that not only tries but triumphs. These experiences are more than just victories and defeats; they are stepping stones for our children to grow in character and sportsmanship.
