Year 1 - Climate Change

This term in YEAR 1 we have been reading the book called Greta and the Giants written by Zoe Tucker.

You can watch the story with your child, read by the author on You tube. Link below:

YEAR 1 learnt about the impact of climate change and things we can do to help protect the planet.

This week they made and designed placards to stand up for what we believe in, and to show we care about the planet, just like Greta Thunberg.

It was amazing to witness the enthusiasm and dedication your children have displayed throughout this journey. Their engagement with this important topic not only demonstrates their understanding of the world around them but also highlights their capacity to be thoughtful and proactive.

Parents, you can truly be proud of the remarkable efforts and achievements of Year 1. Together, we are fostering a generation that not only learns about the challenges our planet faces but actively seeks solutions and takes a stand for positive change.

Greta and the Giants, by Zoe Tucker.

"Greta is a little girl who lives in a beautiful forest threatened by Giants. When the Giants first came to the forest, they chopped down trees to make homes. Then they chopped down more trees and made even bigger homes. ..."
