Applying for a Secondary place for September 2025 

The information on this page relates to those children born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014 who need to apply to start secondary school in September 2025.  If your child is currently in Year 6, they are due to start secondary school in September 2025.

You must apply for a secondary school place for your child even if they have an older brother or sister at your preferred school. If your child attends an All Through school and you wish them to automatically transfer to year 7, please contact the school who will advise you what you need to do.  If you and your child live in Waltham Forest, you must apply through Waltham Forest. If you and your child live outside Waltham Forest, you must apply to the local authority in which you live, even if you are applying for schools in other areas.

 How to apply:  The brochure Starting Secondary School 2025  contains all the information you need to know about applying for a secondary school place. Please check the latest admissions information below for updates to this brochure.  The best way to apply is online, through the eAdmissions website . This is a secure way to apply for your child’s school place.  The eAdmissions website opens for online applications on 1 September 2024.

 The closing date is 31 October 2024. If you are applying after this date, your application will be considered as late.

Please note that you must ALSO complete a Supplementary Information Form if you are applying to a Catholic Secondary school along with a Certificate of Catholic Practice if required.  Please contact the secondary school/church for these forms. These forms are not available at our school.

Parents Visits to Classrooms

                                  Parent Visits to Classrooms: In response to feedback from parents, we have decided to stop our short Stay and Learn sessions on Thursday mornings and replace these with an extended drop in session once per half term. These will be on a Friday morning from 9-9.30am. The Drop-ins are an opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom and take part in their learning in a subject area. Farewell Mrs Palmer

  Good luck and farewell Mrs Palmer after 25 years of excellent service! Mrs Palmer started at St Patrick’s in January 1999 as a Teaching Assistant.  She joined the Registered Teaching Programme (RTP) and her first teaching role was in Reception. Mrs Palmer has had many significant roles at St Patrick’s such as Religious Education Lead, Literacy Lead and Music Coordinator.  Currently she teaches music two days a week in school which she absolutely loves to do; this is where she comes alive with her joy of music and singing. Mrs Palmer’s collaboration with Waltham Forest Music Service has been amazing and has enabled our children to flourish in their musical abilities, from performing in borough-wide competitions and shows to becoming confident players of both the recorder and ukulele. One of her specialities is to rewrite the words of popular songs to celebrate teachers getting married, having babies, leaving, moving to new schools or celebrating milestones at St Patrick’s. Mrs Palme
