Netball Team at London Youth Games

Thursday, 21st March, our Year 5/6 Netball Team embarked on a memorable journey at the prestigious London Youth Games to represent London Borough of Waltham Forest. With 26 boroughs from across London in attendance, the competition was, to say the least, fierce.

Our team, consisting of Otaoghene, Phoebe, Jesururu, Samara, Jacob, Esther, Brayan, and Valentina, played with remarkable skill and determination. Every shot, pass, defensive move, and goal was a testament to their teamwork, showcasing their communication and unity on the court.  Although we do not yet know where we placed in the competition, one thing is certain - St Patrick’s team played exceptionally well.

Representing Waltham Forest with pride, our St Patrick's team exhibited great sportsmanship throughout the tournament. While victory may not have been within our grasp this time, the experience gained was invaluable. Regardless of the outcome, we can hold our heads high knowing that we gave it our all .

We set out to be borough champions, to defend our title and to earn our place at  the London Youth Games; but our journey is about so much more than the titles and tournaments. It's a journey of dedication, teamwork, and resilience. Every practice, every match, and every setback has been a stepping stone on our path of growth and success. As we await the outcome, let's remember that our journey is defined by self-belief, countless hours of hard work, and the bonds we have built as a team. No matter the result, we have already achieved greatness by daring to dream, working tirelessly, and standing together as champions. Let's continue to believe in ourselves, support one another, and let our passion guide us to great heights. Our journey is far from over - there is plenty more to come!

CONGRATULATIONS to St Patrick's Year 5/6 Netball Team for their outstanding performance, hard work, commitment and for representing the borough of Waltham Forest. We are very proud of you.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Ms Le Blond for training and inspiring the team and to Miss George and Mr David for volunteering and accompanying the children on the trip.
