We  are delighted to share the achievements of our Year 5/6 Girls Football Team, who proudly represented
St Patrick's on Tuesday, 28th November, at the highly competitive WFSSN Girls Football Competition. With 35 teams in attendance, the atmosphere was electric, and our team demonstrated true grit and skill throughout the tournament.

In the face of fierce competition from some established teams, our girls exhibited sportsmanship, determination, and a commendable team spirit. Out of the five games played, the team emerged victorious in two, showcased incredible skill in a draw, and displayed unwavering resilience in two closely contested losses.

The games we won, both with a resounding score of 4-0, stand as a testament to the team's prowess on the field. A special congratulations to Esther, our top goal scorer, who showcased exceptional talent. Goals from Phoebe and another standout player, our Team Captain, Otaoghene, added to the excitement and demonstrated the depth of talent within our team. Even in defeat our girls fought valiantly, with a narrow 2-0 loss, a hard-fought 1-0 defeat, and a well-earned 1-1 draw. Each match was a showcase of skill, determination, and the spirit of our team.

Our footballers have shown remarkable dedication and skill development in a relatively short period. Despite any momentary disappointment, they should take pride in the progress they have made and  the lessons learned. Success is not just about winning; it's about the journey, the growth, and the commitment to improvement.

At St Patrick’s we celebrate all achievements, big and small and we focus on the positive aspects of our journey. Our football team are not just competitors; they are learners, and each experience contributes to their overall development as a result of the challenges, defeats, triumphs and lessons encountered during our sporting journeys!
